Welcome to the Panchakosha Yoga application. This application is developed as part of an academic Master's thesis research project to evaluate the holistic development of individuals. We are deeply committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially minors.
1. Information We Collect
To evaluate the effectiveness of the app, we collect minimal necessary data:
- Identifiers: User First Name and Last Name.
- Demographics: Birthdate, Gender, and Assigned Age Group.
- Contact: Parent/Guardian Email and Phone Number (for account recovery and verifiable consent).
- Usage Data: Activity logs, puzzle attempts, and the specific Kosha modules practiced.
- Feedback: Journal entries and subjective reflections provided by the user.
- Technical Data: We use necessary session cookies strictly to keep users logged into their accounts securely. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.
2. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Because this academic study involves children (ages 3 to 12+), we require verifiable parental consent before any data is collected. Accounts must be created by a parent or legal guardian over the age of 18. Parents have the ongoing right to review their child's data, request its deletion, or revoke consent for further data collection at any time by contacting the researcher.
3. How We Use the Information
The data collected is used strictly for academic research purposes. It helps the researcher analyze user engagement, app effectiveness, and developmental trends across the Panchakosha layers. All published research and thesis reports will use strictly anonymized and aggregated data. No individual child's name or identifying information will ever be published.
4. Data Security & Retention
All data is stored securely in an encrypted database accessible only by the primary researcher and the academic guide. We do not sell, rent, or share this data with any third-party marketing, commercial entities, or brokers. Data will be retained only as long as necessary for the completion and defense of the academic thesis, after which personal identifiers will be securely destroyed or permanently anonymized.
5. Right to Withdraw
Participation in this research study is entirely voluntary. Users and parents may withdraw from the study at any time without penalty. Upon withdrawal, you may request that all associated personal data and journal entries be permanently deleted from our servers.
